       Staff Council Corner

By Tina Schultz

A new university policy statement “Staff Reduction in Force” has many staff members wondering if their jobs are in jeopardy. Staff Council is currently reviewing the draft of this policy which establishes criteria for how the university will determine the most productive employees in terms of job performance and job related work experience when in the event of adverse economic conditions, a reduction in staff becomes necessary. Representatives from Human Resources will be attending the March 9th Staff Council meeting to provide further clarification on the policy. Staff Council representatives will be asked to share this information with their constituents. In addition, Dr. Hardin Rahe will also be presenting his vision for Texas State as an arboretum at the March 9th meeting.

All Staff Council meeting agendas and minutes are posted on our website at www.txstate.edu/staffcouncil/. All staff and interested parties are invited to attend our monthly meetings. Please feel free to contact any Staff Council member if you have issues or concerns.
