TexFlex Automatic Re-enrollment – New This Year!
Re-enrollment for Plan Year 2008
Flexible Spending-Health Care and Flexible Spending-Day Care accounts are automatically rolling over this year. If you would like to change your pledge amount or drop out of the plan, you must log-in to ERS Online and make that change. If you elected the PayFlex Debit Card, you will automatically be reenrolled and charged the $16 annual fee.
PayFlex Debit Card Change Effective January 1, 2008
Starting January 1, 2008, you may only use your card at “health care” related merchants or at non-health care related merchants who are able to provide enough detailed information on the items purchased to verify that they are eligible flexible spending account (FSA) expenses.
In other words, the PayFlex Debit card will only work at stores, vendors, or merchants that have a health care related merchant category code (MCC) and at merchants that have implemented an inventory information approval system (IIAS) as described by the IRS. This means that grocery stores, large discount, and general merchandise stores may no longer accept the PayFlex Debit card unless they have implemented an IIAS.
You may still use your debit card in doctors’ offices, dental offices, hospitals, health care clinics, pharmacies, and online pharmacies for eligible expenses. Effective July 1, 2007, Walgreens, Wal-Mart, and Medco Health have implemented IIAS systems so you can use your debit card anywhere in their stores to purchase eligible items.
If you use your debit card and it is denied by a retailer, you must pay some other way and then request your reimbursement by fax or online with PayFlex by submitting a claim form and your receipt.
