Summer Enrollment For Group Insurance

July 23-August 17

Summer Enrollment is your annual opportunity to make changes to your insurance coverage. Most changes you make during Summer Enrollment are effective September 1 st. From July 23 rd through August 17 th you can:

• Enroll in a Flexible Spending Account for Day Care and/or Health Care (automatic re-enrollment for current participants)
• Apply for the State Kids Insurance Program (SKIP) http://www.ers.state.tx.us/insurance/skip/documents/skip_app.pdf
• Add dependents to HealthSelect without evidence of insurability (EOI) if you live or work in Hays, Travis, Bastrop or Lee counties
• Drop dependents or coverages
• Enroll yourself and eligible dependents in a dental plan or change your dental plan
• Apply through Evidence of Insurability (EOI) to enroll eligible dependents in Dependent Term Life http://www.ers.state.tx.us/insurance/forms/documents/eoi_app.pdf (Agency Name: Texas State University Agency Number: 0754)
• Apply through EOI to enroll in Optional/Supplemental Term Life, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability or change other optional coverage
• Enroll/change Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage
• Apply for Long Term Care Insurance
• Apply through EOI to enroll in HealthSelect from a waived status
• Elect the Opt-Out Credit in lieu of health coverage.

To make changes to your coverage, you will need to log-in to ERS Online. Your USER ID is your social security number (with no dashes). If you have forgotten your password, follow the “Need a New Password” link and one will be emailed to you.

Longhorn Dental -San Marcos No Longer Aetna DMO Provider Effective September 1

Effective 9/1/2007, Longhorn Dental - San Marcos will no longer be a participating provider with the Aetna Dental Maintenance plan.

Aetna will be contacting each member who has Longhorn Dental – San Marcos designated as their primary dental office. You will receive a letter in the mail announcing the change and informing you of your new designated dental office.

If you want to switch dental offices on your own, you may call Aetna directly at 1-800-275-1794 and change to another provider on the plan.

Currently there are no other contracted providers with Aetna in San Marcos that are accepting new patients. The closest providers are located in Austin, Luling, or San Antonio. The following Longhorn Dental offices are dropping off the plan:

Remember, providers for all health and dental plans are able to discontinue participation with any plan at anytime. Since this change happens to coincide with summer enrollment, you have the opportunity to evaluate your options.

• You may keep the Aetna DMO with a new primary dental office, or
• Change to the Dental Choice Plan, or
• If neither plan meets your needs, you may consider enrolling in a TexFlex Flexible Spending Health Care Account and pay for your out-of-pocket dental expenses with tax free money.
